Adelaide Chinese Orchestra

The first ever to be established in SA, School of Chinese Music & Arts is committed to building a stronger community through establishment of an orchestra. 




  • ability to read numerical notation (jianpu 簡譜)

  • a good sense of rhythm

  • confidence to perform in front of an audience

  • possess grade 4+ proficiency

  • ability to speak at least English or Mandarin

  • be a friendly team player

  • have a passion for working together to create good music in a fun environment


  • Junior Orchestra: Fortnight Tuesdays 4.30pm

  • Concert Orchestra: Fortnight Saturdays 3.30pm

  • Intermediate Orchestra: Fortnight Wednesdays 6pm

  • Intermediate Orchestra II: Fortnight Saturdays 3.30pm

Players on instruments other than the guzheng

will need to bring their own instruments



Ensemble members may have an opportunity to

perform at events and/or festivals
