Thus it is said, in The Book of Rituals: Chapter 19, Music,
“Music (Yue), is Being Happy (Le).”
A virtuous person is happy when gaining Tao, a less virtuous is happy when attaining Desires.
Using Tao to curb Desires, happiness will not be unruly;
Using Desires and forgetting Tao, confusion will cause unhappiness.
Thus a virtuous person draws back emotions to harmonize with aspiration,
propagates music to establish with teaching.
Music proliferated, will people then aspire for trueness; thus virtue may also be observed. |

The Chinese Harp (Gu-Zheng)
Our musical courses include classes for:
The Chinese Harp (Guzheng)
The Chinese Lute (Pipa)
The Chinese Violin (Erhu)
Our students range from all ages and all backgrounds. We do individual classes, in pairs & group classes, as well as classes for specific interests! There is also the availability to mix and match, so not only can we cater for everyone, but everyone also learns from our teaching methods!
With such, we have successfully accrued great credit for our teaching methods & approach.
Our group classes (maximum of 4 per class) and they have been highly regarded and liked by our students. It is an educational relaxing alternative for those with a stressful lifestyle or career. Please feel free to email us to enquire about our commencement dates.
Classes for children (6 – 16 years) is also a very popular pick. We run holiday short classes as well as term classes and our students have found it entertaining whilst educational. It has been designed for learning Chinese culture through the music and its stories underlying the music pieces.

Due to it’s popularity, we now have 2 teachers, both with Chinese linguistics & educational backgrounds. Our teachers at the school offer private tutoring and short courses for the interested individuals from all ages and backgrounds too. Depending on your need, be it for business purposes, schooling purposes or family purposes, speak to us and we will tailor a course to your needs. And of course, you are welcome to consider our calligraphy options in assisting your learning of the language!
